Traffic Alert: Road Construction Scheduled For First Week in December

FRAMINGHAM – Although the first snowstorm of the season could hit the first week of December, some road construction project work was still scheduled before Thanksgiving.

All work is weather permitting.

Below is a list of city of Framingham and utility work scheduled:

Beacon Street & Summer Street – Sidewalk & Road Improvements: Crews will continue to address punch-list items. A two-way and/or one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect at times, expect minor delays.

Hollis Street Water Main Project – Located near a portion of Bates Rd. Ext. Thayer St. & Andrews St.: Trench paving work continues. Expect minor interruptions at times.

Hospital Streets – Learned, Evergreen, Thurber, and Myrtle Streets – Sidewalk & Road Improvements: Crews will continue to address punch-list items. Expect minor delays.

Jodie Road Gas Main Relay (Eversource Gas): Eversource Gas will continue installing gas main on Jodie Road. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect. Expect minor delays at times.

Salem End Road Bridge Rehabilitation: Bridge rehabilitation continues. Expect minor delays.

Union Ave. Utilities (Between Beech St. & Proctor St.)” Work continues on Union Avenue and Pearl Street. A detour for Union Ave. traffic will be in effect during working hours, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Union Ave. Southbound traffic will be detoured down Lincoln Street to Concord Street. Back onto Union Ave.
  • Northbound travel only on Union Ave. between Proctor Street and Lincoln Street.
  • Periodic closures of the following side streets may include: Henry St., Lexington St., Proctor St., Pearl St., Sanger St., and William Welch Way.
