SOURCE Storm Central: Snow Day for Framingham Students; Storm Warning Until Tuesday

UPDATED: All City of Framingham municipal offices will have a delayed opening of 10 a.m. on Tues., Dec. 3. That includes the Memorial Building, Public Libraries, Parks Administration, the Callahan Center, Loring Arena and the Recycling Center,

No School in Framingham on Tuesday.

Parking ban has been extended to Tuesday at 8 a.m.

National Weather Service has extended the winter storm warning through Noon on Tuesday.

United Way’s Pearl Street Panty & Cafe is closed today, Dec. 3. due to the storm. The pantry isn’t open on Tuesday’s anyway but there will be no evening hot meals. Both the Pantry and the Café will re-open tomorrow.


FRAMINGHAM – A winter storm warning is in effect through Tuesday morning at 7 a.m.

The National Weather Service in Boston is forecasting 8-12 inches of snow for the City of Framingham.

UPDATED: Superintendent Bob Tremblay announced at 4:44 a.m. on December 2 that there will be no school in Framingham.

Keefe Technical calls a snow day just after 5 a.m. Christa McAuliffe Charter and Saint Bridget Schools also have a snow day.

The City of Framingham announced a snow emergency parking ban will go into effect at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1, through 8 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, 2019.

UPDATED: The City of Framingham has extended the parking ban until 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

Arterial roads are designated with posted red and white signs.

During a snow emergency parking ban, no driver of any vehicle shall park their vehicle on the following arterial roadways:

  • Belknap Road
  • Bishop Street
  • Brook Street
  • Central Street
  • Cochituate Road
  • Concord Street
  • Edgell Road
  • Franklin Street
  • Gates Street
  • Grove Street
  • Hartford Street
  • Hollis Street
  • Howard Street
  • Irving Street
  • Lincoln Street
  • Potter Road
  • Salem End Road
  • School Street
  • Summer Street
  • Temple Street
  • Union Avenue
  • Water Street
  • Waverly Street
  • Winter Street
  • Winthrop Street

This parking ban is in addition to the City-wide year-round odd/even parking restriction on all streets.

Residents are encouraged to seek off-street parking and not interfere with snow clearing operations.

Any vehicle obstructing snow clearing operations will be towed regardless of the road.

Trash and recycling collection will remain on schedule at this time (10 p.m. p.m. December 1).

Cancellations & Postponements

Pearl Street Cupboard & Cafe will be closed tomorrow due to the inclement weather. The pantry will re-open on Wednesday. Hot meals will resume on Tuesday night.


Framingham State University has a delayed opening at 9:30 a.m.


The MetroWest YMCA Framingham Branch is open, however morning instructional classes and programs with a start time through 1 p.m. are cancelled. Childwatch is closed for the morning shift (8 a.m. to 1 p.m.).

The Y’s Schools Out Snow Day Program will run at the Framingham Branch with a 7:30 a.m. start time. The Y’s Early Learning Center is open.

MetroWest YMCA’s Wildwood at the Family Outdoor Center has a 2-hour delay.


Access Framingham is CLOSED today, Due to the snow. It will re-open on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 11 a.m.


Due to the forecast for Tuesday morning, the Framingham Library will postpone a lecture series offered by Professor Helen Heineman. The 3-part lecture series on Macbeth now will begin on the 10th followed by Tuesdays the 17th and the 24th. Time is unchanged: 9:30-11 a.m.


Due to the weather, classes starting at 4:30pm or later on Monday, Dec. 2 are cancelled, announced Framingham State University. Also, science labs scheduled for 2:30 p.m. or later are also cancelled. Only essential personnel must report after 4:30 p.m.
