LETTER: People’s Mayor Needs To Improve City’s Customer Service

FRAMINGHAM – I am writing to express my disappointment about our current Mayor of Framingham Ms. Spicer.

I read with disbelief her response to the complaints about her overstaffed office’s lack of customer service, something that my family and I have personally experienced.

A Mayor that run under the slogan “The People’s Mayor” should use the constructive criticism she received as an impetus to improve the city’s customer service instead of publicly offending our elected Councilors.

Ms. Spicer has demonstrated since the beginning of her term that she lacks interest in collaboration and compromise in any meaningful way; she also lacks any real knowledge of Framingham, including its government, its history and its people.

Since the beginning of her term she has disregarded the input and experience of the Councilors who represent the people of Framingham.

From her very first move to purchase a brand new personal vehicle with the taxpayers’ money, her “fights” with the police union regarding her choice of Chief (Sep 2018), with our teachers’ unions regarding her uninformed comments (May 2018), her efforts to cut the school budget (Apr 2019), her wrong moves concerning the Senior Center at Callahan (Apr 2019), just to name a few.

She had two years to demonstrate she is truly the people’s Mayor, and has failed to do so.

It is my hope that the new elected Councilors will continue resisting and that our government will serve the interests of all citizens of this amazing city where I have lived for almost two decades.

Respectfully,
Claudia Ruiz Gustafson
