FRAMINGHAM – The Brazilian American Center held its annual health & immigration fair today, November 24. The fair was held at the St. Tarcisius parish center.
Attendees could learn about bilingual programs within the Framingham Public Schools or at the Callahan Center.
They could hear about the 2020 Census. The Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers and Voices Against Violence also had booths, as did Discovering Hidden Gems.
There was delicious food for attendees and a visit from the Mayor.
Framingham Public Health Nurse Kitty Mahoney and the Framingham Medical Reserve Corps administered 150 flu shots.
“Last year about a dozen people wanted the shot. This year, it is clear the message is out that you need the shot” said Mahoney. “Many in the community are saying yes to the shot today.”
