MARLBOROUGH – St. Mary’s Credit Union has been named the SBA Massachusetts Credit Union of the Year for 2019, according to a recent announcement made by Robert Nelson, Massachusetts District Director of the U.S. Small Business Administration.
This is the fifth year in a row that St. Mary’s Credit Union has achieved this recognition.
“Credit Unions have become an extremely important source of small business capital nationally and here in Massachusetts”, said Mr. Nelson. “We congratulate the team at St. Mary’s Credit Union for not only being named the Massachusetts Credit Union of the Year due to the high volume of SBA loan approvals obtained during 2019, but also for being #10 for all lenders in Massachusetts for small business loans. Their small business lending activity the last five years has been noteworthy.”
St. Mary’s Credit Union’s Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending Nabil M. Farooq also said “This accomplishment is the result of tremendous work by our Commercial Lending team, especially by the efforts of Armand Fernandez, our Vice President and Senior Small Business Lender. We are proud of his hard work and commitment, and look forward to continuing to support our local small businesses.”
