The following is a media release from the City of Framingham
FRAMINGHAM The City will host the 28th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting 5:45-8 p.m. at City Hall at 150 Concord Street Friday, December 6.
All are welcome to watch as Santa and Mrs. Claus use a little holiday magic to light a 35-foot white spruce tree donated by the Casey family who lives on Newbury Street.
Before Santa and Mrs. Claus light the tree in front of City Hall, the Girl Scouts will help get people in the holiday mood with some merry music, and the Framingham Public Library will hand out popcorn to attendees. Afterward, everyone will head inside City Hall for cookies, hot chocolate, a concert from the Framingham Middle Schools Jazz Band, face painting from Keefe Tech, and visits and pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
For the second year, each child will get a book.
This year, pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus will be taken in front of a green screen and available for digital download the next day for free.
A special thanks to our sponsors: Metrowest Medical Center; BJ’s Wholesale Club; Lowe’s; and helping to create the holiday magic, thanks also go out to City of Framingham Divisions including the Framingham Police Department and Auxiliary Police Department; Fire Department; Department of Public Works; Capital Projects & Facilities Management and Framingham Public Library.
The event is open to the public.
