FRAMINGHAM – Three Framingham Youth Football (FYFC) coaches have been terminated after the FYFC board discovered the coaches had posted racist comments in a group chat.

“Framingham Youth Football is committed to enriching the lives of young people through a program that develops the values of leadership, sportsmanship, and teamwork,” said FYFC President Jason Smith in a statement.

“In the last 48 hours, we were made aware of reprehensible and racially charged text messages between some of our coaches that violate this mission and our principles as an organization,” said Smith.

“We immediately launched a thorough investigation, and, upon confirming the validity of these messages, terminated the coaches connected to this matter and severed their ties to our league,” said Smith in a statement to SOURCE.

“The Board of Directors (which met last night) takes this matter very seriously, will continue to investigate, and will take any further actions necessary,” said Smith.

The 6th grade Jr. Flyers were 7-1 this season, under head coach Michael Todd.

FYFC did not release any of the names of the coaches.

The sixth-grade FYFC football team is the #1 seed in the playoffs and had a bye in the first round. The team will play in the second round on Sunday, November 10 in Braintree.

New coaches have been assigned for this weekend’s playoff game.

” We are aware of the accusations made towards coaches and administrators today within the Framingham Youth Football program. The situation has been turned over to the proper authorities and is currently being investigated. We do not condone nor endorse the alleged behavior of the individuals in Framingham,” Tweeted the Massachusetts Youth Football Alliance at 3 p.m.

“All communities deal with adversity. It is the collective youth tackle football volunteer community that will ultimately condemn these thoughts, words, and actions. There is no place for this within our or any walk of life,” Tweeted the Alliance.
