Framingham Planning Board Approves Solar Project For Sisters of Saint Joseph

By Shauna Golden

FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Planning Board unanimously approved solar canopies for the Bethany property in District 8.

The Dover use project at 79 Bethany Road, filed by the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston, includes the addition of 16 bicycle parking space (increasing the on-site total to 36) and solar canopies.

As a majority of the bicycle racks are currently located closer to Bethany Hill Place, one of the new racks will be placed outside of St. Joseph’s Hall.

“I’m very glad to see the addition,” said Planning Board member Shannon Fitzpatrick.

The solar carports will be installed over an existing parking lot on site.

The vote was 4-0-0 (Member Aaron Bober did not vote, as he was at the October 10 meeting when the plan was first discussed.)
