FRAMINGHAM – Framingham High sophomore Abby DeVeau had a personal best time in winning the Bay State Conference Cross-Country title yesterday, October 26 at the Wrentham Development Center.
Deveau beat Natick’s Genna Girard from Natick by 4 seconds to captured the title, said coach Jill Conroy.
Deveau’s time was 18:41.7 minutes.
“The race was close the whole way but Abby was able to push harder at the end to take first, said Conroy.
Framingham High senior Kirsten Harrod finished second for the Flyers in 21:58.6 minutes. She was 62nd overall out of 94 runners.
Sophomore Emma Rothwell was third for the Flyers, and 63rd overall, in just under 22 minutes.
Seniors Paige Fisher and Tess Robinson finished 4th and 5th overall for the Flyers.
The Flyers, unfortunately, finished 9th out of 9 teams at the championship meet.
