Framingham License Commission Approves New Dunkin’ Donuts; But No Drive-Thru

FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham License Commission voted last night, October 21, to approve a new common victualer license for Saxonville Donuts, LLC, which will operate as a Dunkin’ Donuts at 3 Nicholas Road.

The new Dunkin Donuts will be located at the southern end of the Pinefield Plaza in Saxonville.

It would be open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. 7 days a week.

This is a new generation Dunkin’ Donuts, said the applicant.

Plaza owner Richard Aronovitz, applied and received a variance to allow for a drive-thru.

He had planned to construct a 5,000-square-foot building, featuring a drive-thru Dunkin’ Donuts and another tenant.

But after pressure from the neighborhood, including a legal challenge, Aronovitz agreed to change the project to a standalone Dunkin’ Donuts, with no drive-thru lane.

Framingham presently has more than a half dozen Dunkin’ Donuts in Framingham, not counting the one inside the Stop & Shop.

About half of the Dunkin Donuts do not have drive-thru windows, including the one on Concord Street and Franklin Street.

Construction began earlier this year.

It is scheduled to open in three weeks, said the applicant.
