Traffic Alert: Road Construction Columbus Day Week 2019

FRAMINGHAM – The following is a list of road construction projects for the week of October 14. All work is weather permitting.

The projects including City of Framingham, state work, and utility projects.

Beacon Street & Summer Street – Final Paving : Final paving on Summer Street and Beacon Street is now re-scheduled for Monday & Tuesday night, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.. All paving work is weather dependent. During the day, crews will continue to make driveway apron adjustments. A two-way and/or one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect during the day, expect delays at times.

Monday night, Phase II Paving: Summer Street (between Central St. & Beacon St.) will be CLOSED to through traffic. Traffic will be detoured. Please seek an alternate route. Please reference the Phase 2 map for more details.

Tuesday night, Phase III Paving: Beacon St. (between Summer St. & Cochituate Rd.) will be CLOSED to through traffic. Traffic will be detoured. Please seek an alternate route. Please reference the Phase 3 map for more details.

Beaver Street Bridge: Utility companies will continue re-locating overhead wires on Beaver Street. Two-way and/or one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect. Expect minor delays.

Harrison Street Gas Main Relay (Eversource Gas): Eversource Gas will continue installing gas main on Harrison Street. Expect minor delays.

Hospital Streets – Learned, Evergreen, Thurber, and Myrtle Streets – Sidewalk & Road Improvements Monday & Tuesday Night– 7 PM to 5 AM
Monday – Evergreen Street – Crews will mill the road and install a leveler paving course. Please reference this traffic management plan for road closure information.

Tuesday – Learned, Thurber & Myrtle Streets – Crews will mill the road. Traffic will be detoured. Please reference this traffic management plan for road closure information.

DAYWORK: Wednesday through Friday, Learned, Thurber & Myrtle Streets – Crews will begin installing a leveler paving course on the above streets. Please reference this traffic management plan for road closure information. 

Emergency vehicles will have access at all times. Police details will be on-site to facilitate vehicle and pedestrian traffic, as well as hospital deliveries.  A Fire detail will be on-site to facilitate EMS operations. All paving work is weather dependent.

Hydrant Flushing – South of Waverley Street, near the Ashland, Natick, and Sherborn town lines: The Water Division will continue conducting its Fall 2019 Water Main Flushing Program. Water Main flushing will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in residential areas and 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. in business areas. The purpose of the program is to improve drinking water quality for residents and businesses in Framingham. Please reference the website for a daily flushing status update. Jodie Road Gas Main Relay (Eversource Gas): Eversource Gas will continue installing gas main on Jodie Road. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect. Expect minor delays at times.

Lincoln Street Gas Main Relay (Eversource Gas): Eversource Gas will continue installing gas main on Lincoln Street. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect. Expect delays at times.

Lindbergh Road and Hampshire Road Water Main Replacement: The Water Division will continue to install water main on Hampshire Road and Lindbergh Road. Expect minor delays.

Salem End Road, Badger Road, and Gates Street Intersection Improvements” Intersection improvements continue. A two-way and/or one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect during the day time hours. Expect delays at times.

Union Ave Utilities (between Beech St. & Proctor St.):
A city-hired contractor will continue installing water and sewer main. A detour will be in effect during working hours, Monday-Friday, 7 AM – 3:30 PM. Expect delays. Periodic closures of the following side streets may include: Henry St., Lexington St., Proctor St., Pearl St., Sanger St., and William Welch Way. Union Ave Southbound traffic will be detoured down Lincoln Street to Concord Street. Union Ave. Northbound travel only on Union between Proctor Street and Lincoln Street.

Worcester Road Eastbound/Rt.9 East – Water & Sewer Improvements
Night work: Tuesday (night) – Friday (morning), 9 PM to 5 AM: Two crews will continue to install water and sewer main. Construction will occur between 328 to 150 Worcester Road. The right lane on Rt. 9 East will be closed to traffic during working hours. Please use caution if you are traveling through the area.
