Flyers Defeat Walpole 6-1; Qualify For Post-Season Tournament

WALPOLE – The Framingham High boys varsity soccer team defeated Walpole on Saturday afternoon 6-1.

The win puts Framingham’s record at 8-1-3, and qualifies the team for the state tournament in November.

Goals were scored by senior Gabe Padilla, senior Gabe Teotonio, senior Gus Andrade, senior captain Jose Flores, and two goals by junior captain Nicky Matias.

Defensively the team was led by sophomore John Halpin and juniors Aiden Trierweiler and Shay Ingham, said coach Jon Wood.

Daniel Lopez and Matias were strong all day in the midfield, said coach Wood.

The Flyers are home Tuesday at against the Raiders of Wellesley High at 3:45 p.m.
