1 Today is Yom Kippur, one of the holiest days in the Jewish calendar.

There is no school for Framingham Public, Keefe Technical, and Christ McAuliffe students

2. Ticket sales for the 2019 Framingham High Flyers Athletic Hall of Fame end next week on October 15. The induction ceremony is Friday, November 1. This is just the second class to be inducted. Click here for more information and the list of the six inductees.

3. Due to the Jewish holiday, there is no City of Framingham meetings today.

Both Framingham Historical Commission and the Framingham Parks & Recreation Commission, who had meetings scheduled, have cancelled them.

According to the Mayor’s public schedule, Mayor Yvonne Spicer has no public events today, but she is scheduled to appear on WEEI and talk about Halloween.

4. The main Framingham Public Library will host an origami workshop in the SparkLab today from 4:15 to 5 p.m. with Lucas Gustafson, a high schooler who started folding at the age of 6 and is a longtime member of the Origami Club at MIT.

There is ongoing construction on Union Avenue again today. Those who want to access the library’s parking lot on Lexington Street, will need to access it from Lincoln Street.

5. This is national Fire Prevention day. The Framingham Fire Department is hosting an open house at the new fire station in Saxonville on A Street on Sunday. Click here for details.
