FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, October 9, in observance of Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish calendar.
The holiday begins at sundown on Tuesday, October 8.
Schools were closed last Monday due to the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, and will be closed Wednesday this week as those of the religious faith observe a day of atonement.
On Yom Kippur, individuals ask God for forgiveness for their sins to secure their fate.
Keefe Technical students and Christa McAuliffe Charter school students also have no school on Wednesday.
Buses will be running on Wednesday for Saint Bridget School students.
Framingham Public School students will have third four-day school week next week, as school is closed Monday, October 14, in observance of Columbus Day/ Indigenous Peoples’ Day
