Framingham State Athlete Arrested on Child Pornography Charge

FRAMINGHAM – A Framingham State football player was arrested over the weekend, and charged with possessing child pornography.

Framingham Police arrested at 9 p.m. Friday, September 20 at the Framingham State University campus, Rufus Rushins, 23, of 21 Park Street in Danvers.

A police report filed at the court house stated a video of a young girl performing a sex act on a man was found on Rushins’ phone.

According to court records, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force alerted Framingham Police that someone posted in an online forum about having a sexual encounter with a girl, age 5.

The individual used the screen name ““rufdog14#9426” in the online forum, according to police.

That screen name posted online he performed sexual acts with the little girl.

According to court records, the IP address used to post the messages on the online forum was connected to a Framingham State University WiFi network.

Framingham Police tracked down the screen name to a matching email address that was registered to Rushins, according to the police report filed at the courthouse.

He was scheduled to be arraigned at Framingham District Court House on Monday.
