Traffic Alert: Road Construction in Framingham For First Week of Fall

FRAMINGHAM – Below is a list of road construction projects for the first week of fall in Framingham.

All work is weather permitting.

Beacon Street Paving & Sidewalk Replacement Monday, September 23, 2019: Crews will install drainage in an area on Beacon Street. A detour plan will be in effect on Monday, late morning. Please seek an alternate route.
Crews will also continue resetting curbing and begin paving sidewalks.A one-way and/or two-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect during the day. Expect delays at times.

Beaver Street Bridge 
Utility companies will continue re-locating overhead wires on Beaver Street. Two-way and/or one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect. Expect minor delays.

Fountain Street Roadway Improvements: Punch-list items. Expect minimal delays.

Hollis Street Water Main Project – Located near a portion of Bates Road Extension & Thayer Street: A city-hired contractor will begin prepping the site for the project. Expect minor interruptions at times.

Jodie Road Gas Main Relay (Eversource Gas): Eversource Gas will begin installing gas main on Jodie Road. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect.

Lanewood Avenue Siphon Replacement (between Waveney Road & Briarwood Rd.): A city-hired contractor will mill and pave the project area. This work is scheduled for Thursday, September 26th, and Friday, September 27th. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect.

Lincoln Street Gas Main Relay (Eversource Gas): Eversource Gas will continue installing gas main on Lincoln Street. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect.

Lindbergh and Hampshire Road Water Main Replacement: The Water Division will continue installing water main on Hampshire Road. Expect minor delays.

Salem End Road Bridge Rehabilitation: Bridge rehabilitation continues. Expect minimal delays during the day.

Summer Street Paving & Sidewalk Replacement: Crews will begin raising castings and make adjustments to a drain structure. A two-way and/or one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect during the day time hours. Police detail officers will be on-site. Expect delays at times.

Union Avenue Utilities (between Beech and Proctor Streets): A city-hired contractor will begin installing new water main and sewer services. A detour will be in effect during working hours, Monday-Friday, 7 AM – 3:30 PM. Union Ave Southbound traffic will be detoured down Lincoln Street to Concord Street. Union Ave. Northbound travel only on Union between Proctor Street and Lincoln Street.

Winter Street Gas Main Relay (Eversource Gas): Gas main relay continues. Expect delays. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect.

Worcester Road Eastbound/Rt.9 East – Water & Sewer Improvements
Night work: Sunday (night) – Friday (morning), 9 PM to 5 AM
Water main installation continues between 328 to 150 Worcester Road. The right lane on Rt. 9 East will be closed to traffic during working hours. Please use caution if you are traveling through the area.
