FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Public Library held a grand opening for its new Spark Lab today, September 21.
Framingham Mayor Yvonne Spicer attended the 4-hour grand opening at the main Framingham Library. She stopped by at 2 p.m., posed for this photo, and did crafts and STEM projects with attendees.
The Spark Lab is an all-ages makerspace, located on the lower level of the library.
In the Spark Lab, you can imagine, design, create projects, collaborate, and develop new skills.
The Spark Lab has a 3D printer, large format printer, cutting edge design software, sewing machines, art supplies, engravers, video and photography materials, circuitry and electronics, and much more.
The Framingham Public Library Foundation Board fundraised to create the Spark Lab for the Framingham Public Library.
Editor’s Note: In full transparency I am a member of the Board.
