FRAMINGHAM – Freshman Sam Burgess was the fastest runner for the Framingham High boys cross-country team in its season opener at Farm Pond Park in Framingham on Wednesday, September 11.
Burgess was the fourth runner across the finish line in 17.23 minutes.
Milton High had the first three runners across the finish line, and won the meet 15-35.
Editor’s Note: In cross-country, the lowest score wins the meet.
Milton High senior Robert Care won the race in 17.16 minutes.
Wildcat Ross Tejeda was second in the 5,000-meter course in 17.19 minutes. Wildcat Christopher Sullivan was third in 17.20 minutes.
Framingham sophomore Arnay Singh was 7th overall and second for the Flyers in 18.02 minutes.
Flyer senior Matt Hom was 9th overall and third for Framingham in 18:34 minutes.
Framingham sophomore Ryan Gaglione was 10th overall and fourth for Framingham in 18.47.4 minutes.
Shand Seiffert was fifth for the Flyers, finishing in 18.47.84 minutes and 11th overall.
In cross-country scoring, the top five runners for each team score points for a team. First place gets one point, 5th place gets 5 points, 10th place 10 points and 17th place gets 17 points. The team with the lowest score for their top 5 runners, wins the meet.
Framingham senior Lucas Marshall was 12th overall and sixth for the Flyers at 19 minutes flat.
Framingham senior Alex Thurber was 14th overall and 7th for the Flyers in 19.42 minutes.
Framingham junior Ryan McIrney was 16th overall at 20>04 minutes.
Framingham freshman Andrew Hohenstein was 18th overall at 20.41.29 minutes.
Framingham sophomore Bryce Casey was the 10th fastest for Framingham at 20:41.69 minutes and 19th overall.
