7th Annual MassBay 5K To Support Student Hunger Assistance Fund

WELLESLEY – MassBay Community College and the MassBay Alumni Council will host the 7th annual MassBay 5K Race/Walk on Sunday, September 29, at 9 a.m.

MassBay President, Dr. David Podell, will be on hand to welcome the runners and walkers at this family-friendly event.

Medals will be presented to the top runners and prizes will be raffled off to the participants of the 5K.

Each year, the MassBay Alumni Council selects a student scholarship they would like the MassBay 5K Race to support.

This year, the MassBay 5K will benefit the Student Hunger Assistance Fund, which was established in response to the increasing awareness of food insecurity among our student population.

In the spring of 2017, MassBay conducted a student survey and found 52% of those respondents suffered from hunger.

Our hope is to not only reduce food insecurity in our student population, but also to educate the community at large about this issue and how it impacts students’ ability to succeed in college and beyond, said MassBay in a media release.

Runners/Walkers can register www.MassBay5K.racewire.com
