FRAMINGHAM – Upon hearing the news of a blood shortage drive at the MetroWest Medical Center, District 5 School Committee member and candidate for City Councilor in District 5 Noval Alexander is calling on his fellow candidates, especially those in the September 17 preliminary election, to join him in donating blood.

“Framingham is at its best when we come together to help those in need,” said Alexander. “The Blood Donation Center provides an important, life-saving care to our neighbors in need. “

“Donating blood is near and dear to my heart because I’ve donated while serving on active duty in the wake of the Fort Hood shootings in 2009 and other military operations. One pint saves up to 2 lives. Come on, Framingham, join me to help our hospital and its patients,” said Alexander.

MetroWest Medical Center is hosting a blood drive in Framingham at the Blood Donor Center on Tuesday, September 3 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

O Positive and O Negative types are most needed, but all blood types are happily accepted.

The Blood Donation Center is located on the ground floor of the hospital through the main lobby.
