5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: Thursday, August 29, 2019

1 Yesterday was the first day of school for Saint Bridget School, Christa McAuliffe Charter School and Framingham Public School students in grades 1-12.

Today is the first day of school for kindergarten students. Break out the tissues!

2. Framingham Farmers’ Market is open today from noon to 5:30 p.m. on the Framingham Centre Common.

3. No City of Framingham meetings scheduled today.

  • Boys varsity golf team has a match against Brookline at 3:30 p.m. at The County Club in Brookline.
  • Girls varsity soccer hosts Milford at 3:45 p.m.
  • Boys varsity soccer has a scrimmage against Acton-Boxborough at 4 p.m.

5. According to the Mayor’s public schedule, Framingham Mayor Yvonne Spicer has no public events on her schedule.

Yesterday, she attended an event at Shillman House with Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan. The DA spoke to seniors about scams and senior safety. The event was not on the Mayor’s public schedule.
