SUTTON – Police arrested a Sutton man in connection with the death of a psychotherapist struck-and-killed while running in Sutton on Wednesday.
Daniel DeLima, 51, of Milbury was struck and killed while jogging in Sutton just before 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday. He was employed as a psychotherapist at the Edward M. Kennedy Health Center in Framingham and Milford.
Yesterday, Sutton Police arrested Shane Newman, 39, of 113 Putnam Hill Road, Sutton, in connection with the death of DeLima in Sutton on Wednesday.
Newman was charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in personal injury or death in connection with the death of DeLima.
The Worcester County District Attorney’s office said Police had been searching for a white SUV with damage to the front passenger side area,
Sutton Police Detective Matthew K. Bohanan wrote in court documents that investigators found a headlight at on Singletary Avenue where DeLima was fatally wounded.
Police found paint from a white vehicle on DeLima, according to documents.
A Registry of Motor vehicles search by investigators revealed two white Cadillac SRXs registered in Sutton.
A 2014 white Cadillac SRX is registered to a Terrence Newman of 113 Putnam Hill Road in Sutton.
Police said that Cadillac from Putnam Hill Road was damaged to the front passenger side, consistent with hitting a pedestrian and consistent with debris left at the scene.
