FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Public School Department is seeking proposals for a lease for a period of up to five years of approximately 20,000 square feet of modern, usable office space within an existing building for the School Departments Administrative Offices.
Occupancy must commence no later than January 1, 2020, according to the announcement by the City of Framingham today.
The request for proposals was published today, August 15.
The Framingham Public Schools presently leases space at the Perini Building, at 173 Mount Wayte Avenue.
Currently, the School Department occupies 20,000 square feet of the
Perini building, and the City pays $356,000 a year to lease the space.
The lease was signed when Stacy Scott was Superintendent of Schools.
The Perini Building is for sale. It went on the market earlier this year.
The RFP requests an office building with adequate parking and the appropriate number of offices needed to house up to 100 staff.
The minimum 20,000-24,000 square feet of useable space does not include “common areas”.
Specifications will be available Wednesday August 21, at 10 a.m.
Bids will be accepted via the City of Framingham’s Procurement Office 150 Concord Street until Wednesday October 2, 2019 at 10 a.m.
