5 Things You Need to Know Today in Framingham: Wednesday, August 14, 2019

1  The City’s three public beaches are open today from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. They are Lake Waushakum, Saxonville Beach and Learneds Pond in the Warren-Oakes neighborhood.

Beach tags are required for entrance or you can purchase a one-day pass at $3.

The beach will close for the summer tomorrow, August 15.

2. Free lunch at the library today for those under age 18 from noon to 2 p.m. at the main Framingham Library.

At 2 p.m. there is a free screening of the Spiderman movie at the Costin room.


  • Framingham Zoning Board of Appeals will meet at 7 p.m. in the Ablondi room in the Memorial Building
  • Framingham Cultural Council will meet at 7 p.m. in the executive conference room in the Memorial Building
  • Framingham Historical Commission is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. in City Hall (Memorial Building).

4. According to the Mayor’s public schedule, Mayor Yvonne Spicer attended the swearing-in ceremony for the city’s newest police officer this morning.

5. The Greater Framingham Running Club and Framingham Parks & Recreation host the summer track program tonight at Bowditch Field. Registration at 5:30 p.m. and races start at 6 p.m.
