FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Police arrested a Framingham man, 20, on Monday morning, after a woman said he broke into her home and tried to rape her.
Police arrested Victor Barbosa, 20, 9 Weld Street in Framingham, at his apartment. He was charged with assault with the intent to rape and breaking and entering during the night to cause fear.
According to the court report, the alleged victim and Barbosa both attended the same party on Sunday.
By chance, the two also attended the same Route 135 restaurant, after the party.
The woman told police she gave the man a ride to his house, and then she went home alone, and went to bed about 12:30 a.m., according to the court report.
About an hour later, she woke up to find Barbosa in her apartment. She told police she did not give him a key and she thought she locked her doors. Police found no evidence of a breakin, according to the court report.
The woman told police, Barbosa was taking off his clothes, and he was trying to take off her clothes, while she was in the bed, according to the court report.
The woman yelled at Barbosa and he left her apartment, she told police.
Barbosa was arraigned in Framingham District Court today, August 5.
Judge Jennifer Stark held Barbosa without bail, pending a dangerousness hearing on August 6.
