FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Post 74 Legion team lost to Leominster on Thursday night.Leominster shut out Framingham 6-0.
Leominster would put up 4 runs in the bottom of the first inning off of Framingham starter Justin Kreir with 4 hits, 2 walks and 2 errors.
Matt Maloney entered the game in the bottom of the second inning for Framingham and pitched a scoreless 2nd and 3rd inning before running into trouble in the bottom of the 4th inning.
Leominster would load the bases in the 4th on Maloney and with two outs Leominster had a base hit to make it 6-0.
Framingham’s Trevor Smith came in relief, with the bases loaded in the bottom of the fourth and would get a ground ball to end the inning.
Smith then pitched a scoreless fifth inning, while Alex Duffy threw a scoreless sixth inning for Framingham.
The loss puts Framingham Legion 1-1 in the 2019 playoffs and they will travel to Northborough for a 5:30 p.m. game today.
