FRAMINGHAM – A Route 9 restaurant voluntarily agreed to close its doors until it passes re-inspection, said Framingham Health Director Sam Wong.
China Gourmet at 1583 Worcester Road in Framingham has been closed since at least June 19.
“We are still working on finishing the formal inspection report,” said Wong.
“We asked them to contract with a qualified food safety consultant to help them with corrective actions, which they did. We are waiting for them to notify us when they will be ready for our re-inspection. They are closed until they can pass our re-inspection,” said Wong to SOURCE.
Framingham health inspectors observed “improper employee handwashing, lack of an approved plan for sushi operation, employees lack of food safety knowledge, and no sanitizer for warewashing operation,” said Wong.
The Health Director also said there was “substantial grease buildup on their hood.”
Wong said the health department “notified the Framingham Fire Department,”who also were on site conducting an inspection.
