Framingham History Center Hosts 7th Annual Summertime on the Common

FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham History Center will kick off its Summertime on the Common family activity series in July.

This is the sixth consecutive year of the program and the 7th season overall.

The goal for this year’s programming is to bring in more Framingham history, said Framingham History Center Assistant Director Laura Stagliola.

“Big Joe the Storyteller is going to be sharing some historic stories of young Framingham girls and boys in an entertaining way of course,” she said.

“Larry Spotted Crow Mann will be telling stories about the first people who lived here and how he learned those stories as a young man,” said Stagliola.

Eastern Bank is the lead sponsor for Summertime on the Centre Common.

The first event is July 11 at 10:30 a.m

Join AMC’s Outdoors Rx for summer nature exploration around Framingham Centre Common! Nature crafts, games and activities for families with kids aged 0-13. Bring water and a hat! This 10:30 a.m. event is free for families. Rain or shine; snacks will be provided. Suggested age 8 & under, unless otherwise specified. July 18: Larry Spotted Crow Mann 10:30 a.m. Village Hall on the Common, 2 Oak St, Framingham

Author and member of the Nipmuc Tribe of Massachusetts, Larry Spotted Crow Mann will share songs, stories, and traditional drumming of the first people of Framingham. Appropriate for children over age 4. This event is free for families. Rain or shine; snacks will be provided. Suggested age 8 & under, unless otherwise specified. Sponsored by Eastern Bank and hosted by the Framingham History Center.

July 25: Big Joe the Storyteller at 10:30 a.m. at Village Hall on the Common, 2 Oak St, Framingham

Energetic & animated tales from Framingham’s past that are brought to life through puppets, props, and “the box”! Appropriate for preschool age children and up. This event is free for families. Rain or shine; snacks will be provided. Suggested age 8 & under, unless otherwise specified. Sponsored by Eastern Bank and hosted by the Framingham History Center.

August 1: Stacey Peasley at 10:30 a.m. at Village Hall on the Common, 2 Oak St, Framingham

Stacey will have children of all ages singing and playing musical games!

August 8: Pumpernickel Puppets at 10:30 a.m. Village Hall on the Common, 2 Oak St, Framingham

Enjoy the fairytales of The Three Billy Goats Gruff/The Lion and the Mouse. Appropriate for children over age 3. This event is free for families. Rain or shine; snacks will be provided.
