NATICK – Friends of the 4th, the non-profit, all-volunteer organization known for organizing the 4th of July Parade and festivities occurring in Natick, today, June 20, announced that the 4th of July Parade will occur in 2019, and requests the community’s support to make it possible.

The parade, which has occurred every year since 1955, attracts roughly 4,000 spectators from Natick and the greater Boston area and features performances from popular bands.

Rain or shine, the parade will begin at 9 a.m. ET on Thursday, July 4, 2019, at Wilson Middle School and travel down Route 27 to the Natick Common, concluding in front of St. Patrick’s Church.

Friends of the 4th is also hosting the 2019 Natick Children’s Parade, which will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2019, on the Natick Common, immediately preceding the Concert on the Common.

“I am thrilled to see this refreshed group of amazing volunteers on the Natick Friends of the 4th Committee step up to perpetuate the wonderful heritage of one of our greatest town events,” said Rick Jennett, member of the Natick Board of Selectman. “I am proud to say that I have marched alongside my fellow Selectmen over the last six parades and my extended family has been attending for many years. I always look forward to the sights and sounds of this parade when marching with so many wonderful participants who help to make this a memorable event for many of Natick’s newer and long-time families.”

The committee has received generous support from community members through its donation jars located at many Natick businesses and it has rallied to put on several fundraising events so far this year.

On Thursday, June 20, 2019, Friends of the 4th will be hosting Trivia Night at Lookout Farm Taproom beginning at 7 p.m.

One dollar of every cider and beer sold will support Natick’s 4th of July Parade and local Natick businesses will be supplying prizes for first-, second- and third-place trivia winners.

“Since taking over as organizers of the parade, we have secured more than 10 popular bands, a large number of cultural organizations and youth groups, and first responders from Natick and several surrounding towns to participate in the parade,” said Peg Waters, president of Friends of the 4th. “Now we are looking to the community and organizers to help us cover our final costs as well as perform the physical activities required to put on the parade.”

In addition to its grassroots fundraising efforts, Friends of the 4th has received support from several corporate sponsors for the parade. As of June 18, 2019, the list of sponsors includes: Lexus of Northborough, Needham Bank, The Rousseau Family of Framingham/Saxonville, MathWorks, John Everett & Sons, Roche Bros, MutualOne Bank, Debsan, John McHugh Real Estate, William Raveis/Barber Real Estate Group, Brigham-Gill Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, Brochu Bros., Fair & Yeager Insurance Agency, H. Brandt Jewelers, Skyboxx 109 Sports Bar & Grill, Natick Dental Partners and Wegmans.
