PHOTO OF THE DAY: Spicer Issues Proclamation For National Gun Violence Awareness Day

FRAMINGHAM – Everyone is encouraged to Wear Orange on National Gun Violence Awareness Day on June 7 and this weekend.

Framingham Mayor Yvonne Spicer read a proclamation a few minutes ago at City Hall on behalf of Massachusetts chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.

Orange is the color that Hadiya Pendleton’s friends wore in her honor after she was shot and killed in Chicago at the age of 15 — just one week after performing in President Obama’s second inaugural parade in 2013.
