The following is a press release from the Mayor’s office through the Public Information Officer. It is published as received.

FRAMINGHAM – City of Framingham Mayor Yvonne M. Spicer announced today, May, 24, Charlie Sisitsky, Vice Chair and District 1 City Councilor, will serve as this year’s Flag Day Parade Grand Marshall on Sunday, June 9, at 2 p.m.

In April, Sisitsky announced that he will not seek re-election to the City Council.

Sisitsky was a Framingham selectman from 1998 until he was elected to the City Council in 2017, taking office in January 2018.
Currently he is:
 The City Council Vice Chair;
 Serves on the Framingham Finance Subcommittee;
 Serves on Planning & Zoning Subcommittee and;
 A member of the Fuller School Building Committee.

He has spent his entire career in municipal government and previously was the Director of Public Works in Natick, MA.

“I can’t think of a more deserving honor than Grand Marshall of the Framingham Flag Day Parade for someone who has dedicated himself for more than 40 years to public service,” said Mayor Spicer.

“President Harry S. Truman’s 1949 Flag Day Proclamation states ‘We celebrate Flag Day this year with a fresh sense of our strength as a nation,’ and Charlie Sisitsky’s contributions to Framingham have helped
lay the foundation for our City’s strength.”
