FRAMINGHAM – An approved marijuana retail operation has purchased a Route 9 location for three times its assessed value.
UT Framingham LLC, which is also doing business as Union Twist Inc. and Union Twist Cannabis Company, has purchased 630 Worcester Road for $3 million.
The property was assessed for $859,600 in 2019 by the City of Framingham.
Mayor Yvonne Spicer awarded the first host agreement for a retail marijuana establishment to Union Twist, at that 630 Worcester Road location, which is directly across from Prospect Street.
UT Framingham LLC is registered to a Gregory Thomaier of New York City.
The seller of the property was 630 Worcester Road Realty Trust.
Two businesses are currently operating at 630 Worcester Road. They are Nabina’s Salon & Spa and Sophia Medspa.
Mayor Spicer awarded the host agreement to Union Twist.
Union Twist’s chief operating officer is former Democratic state Rep. Marie St. Fleur, a lawyer.
The company told the City of Framingham is hoped to make $40 million in sales in its first year.
The City would make about $1.2 million from a 3% sales tax levied on marijuana sales.
