FRAMINGHAM – Framingham State University is excited to announce that Dr. Constanza Cabello has accepted the position of Vice President for Diversity, Inclusion and Community Engagement at Framingham State University.
Dr. Cabello, whose first day at FSU will be July 15th, is currently the Assistant to the President for Institutional Diversity/Director of Intercultural Affairs at Stonehill College in North Easton
In that role, she works alongside the college president to strategically position the institution to meet the needs of diverse communities and underserved populations. She is credited with increasing support, resources, and visibility for Stonehill’s students of color, LGBTQ+ students, international students, and first-generation college students.

Dr. Cabello is set to become Framingham State University’s first Vice President for Diversity, Inclusion and Community Engagement, which has been elevated from the previous position of Chief Officer of Diversity, Inclusion & Community Engagement.
“Our efforts around diversity, equity and inclusive excellence are central to the University’s mission and at the core of our commitment to supporting all students,” says Framingham State President F. Javier Cevallos. “We are thrilled about the leadership, vision, and experience Dr. Cabello brings to this new position.”
Dr. Cabello says the mission of Framingham State University and the community it serves attracted her to the job.

“I’m really excited to work with the leadership at Framingham State, as well as the students and the larger community,” she says. “I pride myself on being a visible leader. Someone who is out there and really accessible, so I’m looking forward to getting on campus and engaging with the students, faculty, and staff.”
Prior to joining Stonehill College in 2015, Dr. Cabello served as the Associate Director of Multicultural Affairs at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. In this role, she collaborated with students, faculty and staff to increase institutional and individual capacity.
She is a leading voice in professional associations that aim to advance the field of higher education. She is a member of the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education and the Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals.
Dr. Cabello has a BS in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Connecticut, a Master of Science in Counseling from Central Connecticut State University and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership Studies from Northeastern University.
She is a proud Chilena, child of immigrants, and first-generation college graduate.
