FRAMINGHAM – Scholastic book fairs are a common fundraiser at many of the elementary schools in the Framingham Public School District.
But last school year, Barbieri Elementary School didn’t have a volunteer to coordinate the book fair.
So this school year, District 7 School Committee member and Barbieri parent Tiffanie Maskell volunteered to chair the book fair and created a dinosaur-themed book fair, that thrilled students.
The book fair exceed the goal set by Chair Maskell by almost 50 percent.
“Our volunteers at Barbieri were amazing,’ said Maskell.
And thank to Maskell and her volunteers “more than 1583 books” got into the hands of the K-5 students at the school.
Maskell said the book fair reached “149% of its goal.”
