FRAMINGHAM – MassBay Community College held disaster day – mass casualty incident training drill – this morning, May 9 on its Framingham campus for healthcare students.
The scenario for this drill, which was written by our EMT and Paramedic students, is an outdoor music concert, when mid-show the stage collapses due to an out of control car that crashes into the structure.
The nursing, EMT, paramedicine and surgical technology students responded to the incident as if it is a true emergency, using the skills they have learned in their specific disciplines.
Students faced multiple trauma victims, vehicle entrapments, and as an added twist to, a medical patient located on the roof of the structure is injured and a roof rescue is needed.
Framingham Mayor Yvonne Spicer spoke at the event and witnessed the drill.
