FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High boys track & field team lost to the Tigers of NewtonNorth at Bowditch Field on Thursday afternoon, May 8.
The Tigers won 103-33.
Despite the score, there were some highlights.
Framingham went 1-2 in the 100-meter event.
Senior captain Vasanth Prabakaran won the dash in 10.9 seconds. It qualified him for the state meet, said head coach Chris Collins.
Junior Angel Martinez finished second in the 100-meter event at 11.2 seconds, which also qualified him for the state meet.
The only other win for the Flyers was the 4X100 relay.
Framingham crossed the finish line first in 45.1 seconds. On the winning relay was Martinez, senior Jon Lam, senior Seth Martin, and Prabakaran.
Martin also placed in two field events yesterday.
The senior took second in the long jump at 18-feet and third in the triple jump at 35-feet, 11 inches.
Framingham senior Thomas Adjapong finished third in the long jump for the Flyers at 17-feet, 7-inches. He also placed in the high jump.
Senior Chidi Nna also placed in two field events for Framingam.
He took second in the shot put with a throw of 43.5 feet. Nna also placed in the javelin event.
Sophomore Sed Lomani finished second in the 110 hurdles in 16.4 seconds.
Framingham sophomore Josh Halberstadt finished third in the 400 hurdles at 63.5 seconds.
In the mile, junior Alex Thurber finished third in 4:57.1 minutes for Framingham.
Freshman Arnav Singh finished third in the 2-mile event in 10:59.4 minutes.
Framingham freshman Noah Marshall took third in the 200-meter event in 25.1 seconds.
