FRAMINGHAM – Framingham State University is looking to establish the
Chris Walsh Center for Educators and Families of MetroWest.
The Center would study, disseminate information on, and promote best practices about the continuum of educational supports available to students with disabilities, students who are gifted, and students with unmet needs.
Chris Walsh, was elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 2011, and served until his death in May 2018. He died after a courageous battle with cancer.
State Rep. Maria Robinson, who was elected in November 2018 to fill the house seat held by the late Rep. Walsh, requested $200,000 be added to the proposed education budget for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
This week is budget week at the Massachusetts State House.
The Committee working to establish the Center in Rep. Walsh’s name at Framingham State University is also seeking grant funding.
