The following is a media release from MassDOT.
BOSTON – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has announced that overnight lane closures on sections of I-93 southbound between Reading and Boston will resume on Sunday, April 21.
These lane closures will consist of the left lane being closed and will be implemented each evening between 8 p.m., and 5 a.m.
The location of the left lane closure on I-93 southbound will vary nightly and will be dependent upon the work being performed.
These impacts will enable crews and contractors to safely and effectively install highway lighting infrastructure on I-93 and the associated on and off-ramps.
This $14.8 million project is scheduled to be completed in spring 2021.
Signs, traffic control devices and messaging will be used to guide drivers throughout this area. MassDOT encourages drivers to reduce speed and use caution while approaching and traveling through the work zone and to allow for extra time through this area.
All work is weather dependent and is subject to change without notice.
