5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: Tuesday, April 16

1 Yesterday was the 2019 Boston Marathon. SOURCE was at Mile 6 covering the event.

2. Framingham Mayor Yvonne Spicer is scheduled to attend the ribbon cutting for VIP Tires &Service today at 4 p.m.

She will meet with the public from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Ablondi room in the Memorial Building.

It is unknown if she will attend the City Council meeting tonight at 7:15 p.m.


Edgell grove Cemetery Trustees have a meeting at 3 p.m.

4. Framingham Public Library is hosting a PEEPS diorama contest.

“We’re gonna have a contest this spring to see who can make the coolest Peeps diorama. Yup, the little marshmallow birds and bunnies. You can make yours at home if you’d like and bring it in to us by the end of April (deadline is Tuesday, April 30), but we’re gonna give you all some time to work on it here at the library too. We’ll have all the basics you’ll need (including lots of Peeps), but bring anything else you’d like to use. Winner gets a cool prize.”

You can work on the diorama today from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Christa McAuliffe Library branch and tomorrow at the main Framingham Library.

5. FLYERS in action:

  • Framingham Baseball will host the Panthers of Holliston High at noon at Bowditch Field’s diamond.
  • Softball vs Marlborough High has been postponed
  • Boys Volleyball has a 1 p.m.match against St. John’s of Shrewsbury at 1 p.m.

BONUS: The Heroes Cup hockey tournament is at New England Sports Center in Marlborough this weekend.
