Burgess Finishes 2nd in the BAA Middle School 1,000 Meter Race

BOSTON – Newton’s Tyler Tubman won the Boston Athletic Association’s middle school 1,000 meter race on Saturday morning, April 13, in Boston.

His winning time was 2:55 minutes flat.

Framingham’s Sam Burgess finished second in 2:59.8 minutes. Burgess is a student at the Christa McAuliffe Charter School in Framingham.

The two were the only ones under 3 minutes in the 16 runner field.

The Association invited the communities alng the marathon route to submit two runners each.
