Raiders Defeat Flyers 119-16 in Season Opener

WELLESLEY – The Framingham High girls outdoor track team lost its season opener on the road against the all-state indoor champion Wellesley High School team.

The Raiders won 119-16.

Framingham is now 0-1 on the season, under head coach Ed Crowley.

The Flyers were strongest in the field events today, April 10.

Sophomore Anna Clara Costa finished second in the shot put with a throw of 24-feet, 3-inches. Senior Ayushi Shrike (pictured) finished third in the event with a throw of 23-feet, 7-inches.

Sophomore Sophie Albright finished second in the high jump at 5-feet 2-inches.

Flyer sophomore Helene Wakadilo did well in the javelin event with a throw of 71-feet, 3-inches.

Framingham’s Laura Dube finished third in the mile in 6:08.7minutes.

Junior Isabel Foley finished third in the 400 hurdles at 79.8 seconds.

Freshman Maggie McEnaney finished third in the 800 event at 2:47 minutes.

Captains for the outdoor girls team this season are seniors Clara Small and Grace Poku.

The home opener for the track team is on April 24.
