UPDATED: Flyers Baseball Earns First Victory of Season

FRAMINGHAM – With a strong pitching performance turned in by senior James Draughn the Flyers baseball team picked up its first win of the season against the Wellesley Raiders today, April 10.

The Flyers defeated the Raiders 4-2.

The Flyers are now 1-2 under first-yearhead coach Matt Milano.

Draughn threw the complete game allowing 2 runs off of 6 hits, 4 strikeouts, and 1 walk.

The Flyers scored two runs early after seniors Nathan Nichols and Nick Seeto reached base by a walk and hit-by-pitch. The two were moved into scoring position when Junior Jack Beverly laid down a sacrifice bunt.

Senior Tommy Clark and Junior Sam Whiting drove in Nichols and Seeto with RBI singles each.

The third run came off the bat of Seeto with an infield single driving in freshman Cody Coleman, who reached base on a double to right field.

Clark hit an RBI double to drive in Seeto in the fifth inning.
