Flyers Defeat Raiders 3-2 in Home Opener

FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High boys volleyball team earned its first win of the season Monday against Wellesley High,

The Flyers defeated the Raiders 3-2.

“With a chance to re-write history with another 5-game match for the Flyers but this time they came out on top,” said head coach Emily Viti.

After losing the first 2 games 27-25,26-24 the Flyers flipped the switch and won the next 3 25-22,25-20,15-13.

Early in game 5, the Flyers were down by 4, said Viti.

“After a strong service run from seniorErick Oliviera and a powerful offense from Jack Harmon, the Flyers tied the game at 10-10 and were able to hold on to the lead until the final whistle,” said Viti.

“I’m very proud of this teams tremendous growth in just a few matches and impressed by their perseverance,” the coach said.

The Flyers will host the Tigers of Newton North on Wednesday.
