FRAMINGHAM – The Flyers boys lacrosse team squared off against the Milton Wildcats on Tuesday afternoon to kick off their 2019 season.
Led by captains Lars Olsen and Nolan Buck, they were able to come out on top by a final score of 8-5.
Each captain scored a goal. Hunter Balducci and freshman Tim Sullivan each scored two goals.
The Flyers got off to a very quick start, finding the back of the net twice within the first few minutes of the game.
Although Milton did fight back with a goal of their own, the Flyers continued to put pressure on Milton’s defense, and took a 6-3 lead into the half.
The Flyers continued their offensive pressure in the 2nd half. When they didn’t have the ball in the offensive zone, they got stellar goal tending from Sophomore Brady Morgan, who held Milton scoreless in the 3rd quarter.
Head coach Jamie Stefanini was very pleased with his team’s performance in their first game.
“I think the key to our game today was our hustle. We out hustled the other team and gave it our all,” said Stefanini.
He also was very happy with the leadership and teamwork displayed, adding “I think we have great leadership from our captains as well as the Seniors on the team.”
Framingham will travel to Newton for their next game on Thursday.
