FRAMINGHAM – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will spend $1.186 million in a dozen communities to upgrade state-owned wheelchair ramp street crossings to make them Americans With Disabilities (ADA) complaint and to address sidewalk deficiencies.
Pleasant Street in Framingham is part of the MassDOT project. Nine intersections along Pleasant Street and Route 30 will be upgraded to improve accessibility.
Work is scheduled to finish by the end of the summer.
There were seven bidders for the project, ranging in price from $1.186 to $1.983 million.
The bid was awarded to the lowest bidder Newport Construction Corp.
