FRAMINGHAM – The MutualOne Charitable Foundation has awarded $5,000 to the Rotary Club of Framingham to support the Rotary’s Education Fund. Announcement of the grant was made today, March 27 by Mark R. Haranas, president and CEO of MutualOne Bank and a Foundation trustee.
Each year, the Rotary Club awards scholarships of $3,000 to $4,500 each.
According to Rotary Club Co-President Tom Sturiale, the $5,000 Foundation award put their fundraising over their goal – qualifying the Club for a matching gift of $25,000.
“We are pleased to support the Rotary Club of Framingham’s efforts to assist local students with the cost of post-secondary school education,” said Haranas.
The $5,000 grant to the Rotary Club of Framingham was among awards totaling $109,020 in the MutualOne Charitable Foundation’s most recent round of funding.
Established in 1998 as the philanthropic arm of MutualOne Bank, the MutualOne Charitable Foundation has since donated over $4.4 million to charitable, educational, and civic initiatives that improve and enrich the quality of life in Framingham, Natick, and surrounding communities.
MutualOne Bank, which operates under an 1889 state charter, has full-service offices at 828 Concord Street and One Lincoln Street in Framingham and at 49 Main Street in Natick, a Commercial Loan Center at 160 Cochituate Road in Framingham, and a Residential Loan Center at 49 Main Street in Natick.
