FRAMINGHAM The City of Framingham Public Works Department will hold a neighborhood meeting on the Beaver Street bridge replacement project on Thursday, April 4.
The meeting will be held at Wilson Elementary School, at 169 Leland Street at 6:30 p.m.
DPW employees and consultants will go over the plans for the bridge replacement on Beaver Street near the Mary Dennison Park playground.
This project will replace the Beaver Street Bridge over Beaver Dam Brook.
This bridge was identified in the 2013 Framingham city-wide bridge inspection and master plan as a replacement priority within 10 years.
The bridge was originally built in 1922 and rebuilt in 1951.
The structure exhibits severe deterioration of the concrete and has a posted weight limit.
This project includes the installation of a new bridge with drainage, sidewalk and safety improvements.
The City has applied for and received a $500,000 grant toward the design and replacement of this critical structure.
The project will require a full time vehicular and pedestrian detour during the spring and summer months, according to the City.
