Tersoni MVP of Bay State Carey Division; 4 Flyers Make All-Star Team

FRAMINGHAM – Framingham senior captain Mike Tersoni was named the MVP of the Bay State Conference’s Carey Division by the coaches.

Tersoni was the leading scorer for the Flyers, who won the Bay State Conference and qualified for the MIAA’s Division 1A post-season tournament, known as the Super 8 Tourney.

Four Flyers earned a spot on the Bay State Conference all-star team, including Tersoni.

The others were junior Will Trischitta, a top scorer on the team, junior goalie Jake Handy, and sophomore Jared Shimelman.

The Flyers finished the season 17-5-2, and never lost a game in the Bay State Conference, under head coach Will Ortiz, who is in his third season.

This was only the second appearance in the Super 8 tournament for the Flyers. The last time was in 1994.

Framingham lost to the Harbormen of Hingham High in the Super 8 to end their season.

The state title winner was Boston College High, who defeated Pope Francis in the fourth overtime. In January, Framingham defeated BC High 2-1 at Loring Arena.
