Police Arrest Framingham Man, 48, After Teen, 15, Reports Him Masturbating in Library

FRAMINGHAM – A Framingham teen, 15, reported a man exposing himself and masturbating in the Framingham Public Library to police yesterday, March 18.

Framingham Police later arrested the Framinghan man.

Arrested at the main Framingham Library at 1:50 p.m. was John Driscoll, 48, 101 Simpson Drive, of Framingham. He was charged open and gross lewdness, a sex charge.

Around 10:30 a.m., yesterday, a 15-year old Framingham girl was sitting in the young adult section of the main Framingham Library working on the etymology of The Ides of March, according to her mother.

Editor’s Note: Source interviewed the mother but chose not to use her last name, to protect the identity of her daughter, who is 15, and homeschooled.

“She caught movement, looked up from where she was sitting at the red diner table, and saw him behind the stacks masturbating and staring at her,” said the mother to SOURCE this morning, March 19.

“She immediately texted me, and went to the info desk for help,” said the mother.

“He was right behind the first stack, closest to her diagonally,” she explained.

Library staff “called the police, after questioning him,” said the mom.

About a handful of police officers came to the library.

“The police were the silver lining in this story,” said the mom. “They treated her with dignity, never doubted her, and said, “we are going to catch him and charge him.”

Police arrested him a couple of hours later.

“My daughter said the police made her feel like everything was going to be ok,” said the mom.

This is not the first time Driscoll has been arrested.

On June 29, 2018, he was arrested at Whole Foods in Framingham on the same charge.

In February 2019, Driscoll was arrested at AC Moore in Shoppers World on the same charge.
