5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: Tuesday, March 19

1 Tonight is the 9th Annual Taste of MetroWest – one of my favorite events in the City!

The event produced by the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce will be held at the Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center. Tickets will be sold at the door. Click here for details.

2. Framingham City Council meets tonight at 7:15 p.m. The Framingham School Committee will join the Council for the meeting, as will Senate President Karen Spilka, State Rep. Jack Patrick Lewis, State Rep. Maria Robinson, and State Rep. Carmine Gentile.

As City Council Chair Dennis Giombetti works for Senate President Karen Spilka, Vice Chair Charlie Sisitsky will preside over that part of the meeting. Meeting is at City Hall in the Blumer room. The meeting with the state’s legislative delegation is first on the agenda.


3. According to the Mayor’s public schedule, Mayor Yvonne Spicer plans to attend the 9th Annual Taste of MetroWest.

The mayor is also scheduled to attend a climate change stakeholders workshop at noon at the Framingham Library.

Yesterday, although not on the Mayor’s public scheduled she attended an accreditation meeting with the Framingham Public Schools and Massachusetts Department of Education in Framingham.

The Mayor also stopped by Framingham Fire HQ after the dedication of the training room to the late Framingham Fire Captain John Costanza, although it was not on her public schedule.

4. The Christa McAuliffe Charter school will hold its 6th grade culminating event tonight at 5:45 p.m. The project theme is Born to Run.

5. Tonight, the Framingham High athletics department will hold an informational meeting for 8th graders who are interested in participating in sports. The meeting is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m.
